Just twenty four hours after winning his first gold medal and setting a new championship record in the 400m at the 6th IAAF World Youth Championshsips, Kirani James has struck gold once again.
This time, it came in the 200m final.
James clocked a personal best time of 21.05sec to win the 200m event in good form.
This is the first time Grenada has won gold in any event of the WYC and no doubt this performance has once again opened up the eyes of many to Grenada at its athletic talents.
Despite winning the 400m, Kirani was not happy with his timing stating that he was aiming to go under 44 secs in the event.
Prime Minister Hon Tillman Thomas along with Sports Miniter Hon Patrick Simmons has congratulated Kirani on his performance and also praised the persons who assisted the athlete in his preparations.
