ST GEORGE’S, June 22, 2015 – Hermitage and Mt. Rich recorded victories on the opening day of the St. Patrick’s Cricket Council’s Twenty20 Knockout Tournament on Saturday at the River Sallee Playing Field.
In game one, Hermitage defeated Marli by eight (8) wickets.
Batting first Marli were skittled out for 67 runs as Keron Murray top scored with 17. Derron Hypolite was pick of the bowlers with figures of 4 for 24 in four overs.
In reply Hermitage got to 68 in six overs losing two wickets in the process. Donnrick Smith top scored with 31 runs.
Meanwhile, Mt. Rich defeated River Sallee by 53 runs in the second encounter.
Mt. Rich posted 178 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. Byron Best and Craig Williams were the top run getters with 45 and 43 respectively. Camelo Roberts bagged three for 38 in three overs.
River Sallee could only muster 125 runs in 19 overs. Joseph Peters (33) and Melroy Joseph (25) scored the most runs.
The tournament continues this Saturday at the River Sallee Playing Field with the first game beginning at 10am.
