The gear was presented to the players by member of the PPCC Alwyn Benjamin at a short ceremony last Friday.

Benjamin says that throughout the year, strives have been made to assist the young players who are a part of the club and this is part of their efforts.

“In conversation, it was realized that these players needed gear and calls were made to various persons locally and internationally. Based on the donations received the club was able to purchase the bags, pads, gloves, shoes and other paraphernalia.”

The young cricketers were very happy to receive the gear and vowed to make good use of them by performing to their best in the upcoming tournament.

The team leaves the island on Wednesday for Dominica. Grenada are the defending champions of the Windward Islands Under 19 tournament.
