HILLSBOROUGH, Carriacou, June 26, 2015 – Mt. Royal Laurena All-Stars will go in search of their second victory this season and back-to-back title when the Carriacou Premier League Big 4 bowls off this weekend at the Hillsborough Recreation Ground in Carriacou.
The Big 4 will see the top four teams from the just concluded Domestic Tournament in which Mt. Royal were the victors having defeated Harvey Vale in the final. South Side United, Brunswick United and Harvey Vale are the other teams in the League.
In 2013 the first League was played with Dover Daredevils being winners. Mt. Royal are the defending champions of the Carriacou Premier League having defeated South Side United in last year’s final.
The four teams can buy players from the other non-qualifying teams but only three can play in any given match.
There are a number of monetary prizes to be won by the teams and players for the most runs, wicket and sixes.
Samuel Cudjoe who is one of the organizers says the aim is to bring much needed excitement and fun on the island and help promote the game of cricket in Carriacou.
In game one on Saturday, Harvey Vale United will meet Brunswick United at 10 am while Mt. Royal Laurena All-Stars and South Side United will meet at 2 pm.
