ST GEORGE’S, July 6, 2015 – Grenadian Bodybuilder Damion Daniel walked away with the overall title in the recently concluded Sport World Bodybuilding and Fitness Classic 2015 which was held at the Dr Joao Havelange Centre of Excellence in Macoya, Trinidad on Saturday.
Daniel who competed in the heavyweight class emerged winner over Stevenson Belle (Barbados) the 2014 champion and Desmond Patterson (St. Maarten) in third before going on to win the overall title.
In last year’s competition, Daniel finish0ed second in the heavyweight division behind Belle who eventually won the overall championships.
First timer to the event Kelson “Crab Milk” Auguste had a good showing in the lightweight class and despite not making it to the top six. Auguste says it was a good learning experience for him and he is quite happy with his performance and hopes that with better training he will have a better showing next year.
Damion Daniel is hopeful that he can get support to compete in the 43rd Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Bodybuilding and Fitness Championships 2015 which will take place in The Bahamas October 1 – 4, 2015. “It is quite costly to get prepared and also to travel to these events and once I can get assistance then I will be able to attend CAC this year”
Daniel had a third place finish in 2008, fifth in 2009 and third again in 2010 which was the last time Grenada was represented at the CAC Championships.
