Four athletes off to CAC Age Group Championships in Trinidad

ST GEORGE’S, July 17, 2015 – Four athletes will represent Grenada at the 2015 Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Age Group Championships (13-14 years of age) in Port of Spain, Trinidad which runs from July 18 to 19 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium.

The two female athletes Jonair Thomas (St. David’s Track Blazers) and Alisha Charles (McDonald College) will compete in the girls 13-14 Heptathlon which consists of 80m Dash, 60m Hurdles, 1000m, Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put and Ball Throw (400g) while Jared Sylvester (St. David’s Track Blazers) and Jammy Richardson (St. Andrew’s Anglican Primary School) will compete in the boys equivalent consisting of 80m Dash, 80m Hurdles, 1200m, Long jump, High Jump, Shot Put and Ball Throw (400g).

Denise Williams will accompany the athletes as coach/manager.

The CAC Age Group Championships will feature approximately thirty-four CAC countries including hosts Trinidad and Tobago and begins at 9:00 am each day.

The event is held every two years and Bahamas were the overall winners in the 2013 edition of the championships.

Medals will be presented to the top three athletes in each event, with the fourth to eight placed receiving ribbons.

Grenada hosted the event in 1999.
