ST GEORGE’S, July 17, 2015 – Cuthbert Peters Park in Gouyave is expected to come alive this weekend as joint leaders in the Grenada Football Association’s (GFA) First Division Gouyave FC (Sharks) takes on Mt. Rich FC (De Amerindians) in a top of the table class.
Both teams go into Saturday’s encounter as the only unbeaten teams thus far in this year’s competition having won all seven games played and on 21 points.
However Mt. Rich are atop the standings because of a better goal difference.
Sharks will have a lot going for them in this encounter as they have been playing unbeaten from since last season in which they won the second division title and also given the fact that they will be at home in front of what is expected to be a huge crowd.
This is the first time the teams will be facing each other in any of the leagues and both sides are anticipating an evenly contested game.
Captain of Gouyave FC Kwesi Paul is confident of victory but is mindful that the team can lose also. “I am excited going into the game but am also fearful of the critics if we (Sharks) are beaten at home; which is impossible.”
The team has continued its good showing from last season and Paul attributes this success to team work. “It’s been a lot of work both on and off the pitch but hard work always brings success.”
Match time will be at 4:00 pm.
