Two wins for Grenada at OECS/ECCB Under 23 Netball Tournament in St. Kitts.

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, July 19, 2015 – Grenada’s National Under 23 Netball team made it 2 wins from two games in the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS)/Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) Under 23 Netball Championship being held in Basseterre, St. Kitts.

In their game on Sunday, Grenada thrashed Montserrat 66-8.

Captain Cecile Roberts led the way for Grenada converting 35 of her 47 attempts while Renisha Stafford made 20 from 35 attempts. There were also contributions from Tiffany Frederick (6 from 9), Renee Cooper (3 from 5) and Nichel Noel (2 from 3).

In their first game on Saturday against St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada won in a close 38-35 game.

Renisha Stafford had 28 from 40, Cecile Roberts 6 from 11 and Tiffany Frederick 4 from 6.

Grenada will play Dominica in their third game on Monday starting at 6:00 pm.

Six teams are contesting the 2015 OECS/ECCB Under 23 Netball Tournament (St. Kitts & Nevis, Dominica, Montserrat, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada and Defending Champions St. Lucia).

The full team reads: Jamilla Billy, Samantha Cato, Renee Cooper (Vice Captain), Shakeria Fortune, Tiffany Frederick, Brittney Jones, Tonya Mc Farlene, Keshanice Mitchell, Nichell Noel, Renisha Stafford, Cecile Roberts (Captain).

The team is being managed by Keith Williams with Adeletrude Griffith as Physio. Kathy-Ann Williams Gabriel and Oberon Pitterson-Nattie are the coaches while Nadine Lett is an umpire.
