HILLSBOROUGH, Carriacou, July 27, 2015 – Brunswick United defeated South Side United by 45 runs to win the Carriacou Premier League Big 4 title over the weekend in Carriacou.
Brunswick posted 147 for 5. Mickel Joseph and and Ken Quashie top scored with 51 and 43 respectively while Brendon McKie bagged three for 16.
In reply South Side were bowled out for 102 with Rickie Alexander (29) getting the most runs. Pick of the bowlers were Haldon Moses (three for 14) and Imran George (two for 28).
Ken Quashie (Brunswick United) got the award for most runs with 214 ($1 per run) while Kenrick Julien (Mt. Royal) scored the most sixes with 12 ($15 per 6). Most wickets went to Carlos Stafford (South Side) having got 13 ($15 per wicket) and Curtley Modeste (Mt. Royal) got the most catches with five ($30 per catch).
Meanwhile Mt. Royal Laurena All-Stars had a 52 run victory over Harvey Vale in the third place play-off.
Reduced to 10 overs because of rain, Mt Royal posted 117 for 4 with Ken Mathurine unbeaten on 56. Clinton Brown bagged two for 17.
In reply Harvey Vale could only muster 65 for 7 in their allotted overs. Glen Gay top scored with 19 while Ken Mathurine bagged four for 8.
