ST GEORGE’S, September 3, 2015 – Two Grenadian cricketers Ryan John and Roland Cato are in Barbados to play club cricket.
In a release by the Grenada Cricket Association it stated that John and Cato left the island on Thursday and will play for separate teams while in Barbados.
John, a fast bowling all-rounder, will represent FLOW (formally LIME) in the Barbados Cricket Association’s (BCA) Division one Competition, while Cato, a middle order batman will represent Yorkshire for the duration of the domestic season which ends in late October.
The release further stated that the duo’s stint was arranged by President of the Grenada Cricket Association (GCA) Dwain Gill and made possible through contributions from the GCA and West Indies Player Andre Fletcher.
In 2014 Preston McSween benefitted from a similar initiative and represented Yorkshire with great success. McSween in now a full professional cricketer contracted with the Barbados Pride Franchise and will also represent Yorkshire while in Barbados.
