Idlers Sports Club win NLA-GCA T20 Knock-Out Championship

ST GEORGE’S, December 22, 2015 – Idlers Sports Club walked away with most of the top awards as the curtains came down on the second edition of the NLA-GCA T20 Knock-Out Championship on Sunday.

Idlers won the knock-out championship trophy following an eight run victory over Charterlink Pearls Progressive in the final at Progress Park.

Batting first, Idlers posted 140 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs with Rudolph Paul top scoring on 56 runs. Austin Edwards bagged three for 23 with Ryan Paul two for 34.

In reply Pearls Progressive could only muster 132 for 7. Daniel McDonald top scored with 39 runs while Denis George (Just Brand Player of the Match) was pick of the bowlers with three for 13.

Meanwhile, in the third place play-off Police defeated NEWIM Upsetters by six wickets to clinch third place.

NEWIM posted 110 for 6 in 16 overs with Javed Hazzard and Akeem Alexis top scoring with 39 and 27 respectively. Alvin Thomas (Player of the Match) bagged three for 11.

In reply Police got to 115 for 6 in 15.4 overs. Kenroy Peters top scored with 28 runs while Mario Watson and Adel Beggs bagged two wickets each.
