JACKSON, Mississippi January 4, 2015 – On January 14, 2016 the Jackson State Tigers Men’s and Women’s tennis teams will begin their bid for the Southern Athletics Conference Championships and they will have Grenadian Female Tennis Player Lois Alexis leading the charge as head coach.
This is her first season as coach and she spoke to Spice Isle Sports Review about the teams’ readiness for the challenge ahead. “I am definitely satisfied with the preseason training of my team” said a confident Lois Alexis. “They worked hard and did all that I have asked of them. It was not always easy but they fought through adversity and we had a very productive off season.”
Last season was no easy task for the teams and Alexis will not be taking any of her rivals lightly.
“I have confidence in both teams and I am looking forward to success on both sides. On the guys team the conference is all around tough; everyone is a threat. As for the girls from past season our top contenders are Southern University, Alcorn State University, Alabama State and Prairie view A&M but we are not going into the season underestimating any school everyone is a threat.”
The First Time Singles and Doubles All-Southern Athletic Team and Southern Universities MVP and All American player for Southern University is taking up her new job after a two (2) year assistant coaching stint at Southern University and will be competing against past teammates, but she is up to the challenge.
“I expect great things from my players the potential is amazing all I ask of them is that they leave it all out in the tennis courts.”
Alexis graduated for Southern University in Baton Rouge in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and in 2015 with a Master’s in Business Administration.
