St. Joseph’s Convent and Presentation Brothers College win swimming championships!

ST GEORGE’S, January 30, 2016 – It was all smiles for athletes of the St. Joseph’s Convent St. George’s (SJCSG) and Presentation Brothers College (PBC) on Friday as they swam away with the girls and boys titles respectively at the 2016 Inter-collegiate Swimming Championships.

The one day swimming event which was held at the Good Hope Swimming Pool attracted athletes from 10 of the island’s schools.

SJCSG ended the girls meet on 250 points ahead of Westmorland Secondary School (WMS) 198 who had individual age group champions in three of the four categories: Kaiya Ramdhanny (12 & Under), Angelique Minors  (13-14) and Gabrielle Paparo  (15-17).

Nixe Ogilvie (SJCSG) won the 18 & over category.

Happy Hill RC finished third on the girls side with 73 points, Anglican High School (AHS) next on 56 followed by J.W Fletcher Catholic Secondary School (JWFCSS) 35, T.A Marryshow Community College  (TAMCC) 32 and St. Rose Modern Secondary School  (SRMSS) 24.

On the boys side, PBC amassed 214 points ahead of Grenada Boys Secondary School  (GBSS) 142.5 and T.A Marryshow Community College  (TAMCC) 104.

Westmorland was next with 93 followed by SRMSS 77, HHRC 40 5, JWFCSS 27 and Beacon High School 5.

PBC’s Jenebi Benoit won the Boys 12 & under category with 36 points, D’Andre Stephen (13-14) 36 and Carifta Swimming Gold Medalist Delron Felix (15-17) 36.

Zade Brizan (SRMSS) 31 points was the top swimmer in the boys 18 & over category.
