MONTEGO BAY, January 30, 2016 – It was a disappointing end for team Grenada at the NORCECA Continental Cup Women’s Inter Zonal CAZOVA/ECVA Beach Volleyball Olympic Qualifiers in Jamaica.

The team failed to advance following defeats in two rounds of competition.

Though disappointed, team member Shakira Collymore is happy for the exposure.

“It was a great experience. We got to play against teams that we never faced before and learnt a lot. It was definitely a learning experience.”

There are a number of areas that Collymore believes need to be worked on in preparation for future tournaments and she highlighted some of them to Spice Isle Sports Review.

“Training is one , the exposure is another and I think that was something we lacked. We don’t compete enough with other countries in beach volleyball.”

The time given for training is one of the key areas that also needs to be worked on said Collymore because the teams competed against compete and play beach volleyball on a regular basis.

In round one Grenada lost to Trinidad and Tobago 3-0.

The later lost to Cayman Islands 3-1 and St. Kitts 3-2.

The full team reads Shakira Collymore, Thornia Williams, Renisha Stafford and Deanne John.
