Anglican High School and Grenada Christian Academy takes top honours in schools basketball

ST GEORGE’S, February 2, 2016 – Anglican High School (AHS) and Grenada Christian Academy (GCA) are still in celebration mode following victories in the girls and boys division respectively of the Subway Secondary Schools Basketball Championships.

AHS defeated Wesley College 54-12 to win the girls division at the Carenage Hard Court.

Nashell Charles (AHS) 22 points and 12 rebounds was the Most Valuable Player of the game.

In the boys division, GCA had 2-1 series win over Presentation Brothers College  (PBC).

It was a close game one at the Carenage Hard Court with PBC coming out on top in a close 48-47 game.

Jason Alexander’s 16 points earned him MVP of the game.

GCA rebounded from their loss with a convincing 70-52 victory at the Grenville Sports Complex.

Jeremy Richardson (GCA) was the game MVP with 31 points and 11 rebounds.

They completed the come from behind victory with a 73-66 win at the Victoria Hard Court.

Jason Alexander’s 26 points and 14 rebounds was not enough to carry PBC Canons to victory.

Championship MVP went to Jeremy Richardson.

Meanwhile Grenada Boys Secondary School  (GBSS) claimed the third place title after defeating Wesley College 87-81.

Elton Hackette was the game MVP with 30 points and 11 rebounds.
