New champions to be crowned in Independence Cricket Tournament!

Cricket-Ball-and-Bat-Images-546x365ST GEORGE’S, February 2, 2016 – A new champion will be crowned on Thursday, February 4, when the finals of the 2016 Independence Secondary Schools’ Under 15 Cricket Tournament bowls off at Progress Park.

Defending champions St. David’s Catholic Secondary School (SDCSS) lost their semifinal match by one run against Mac Donald College (MDC) in the semifinals.

SDCSS posted 129 in 31 overs and MDC replied with 130 for 9 off 33 overs.

Mc Donald College will face Grenada Boys Secondary School (GBSS) in the final.

GBSS won their semifinal match against Boca Secondary School by default.

The boys from Tanteen will seek to redeem themselves following defeat by SDCSS in last years’ final.

Match bowls off at 10 a.m.
