ST. ANDREW’S, May 21, 2016 – St. Patrick are the champions of the GCA Super 50 Inter Parish Cup following a six-wicket win over St. George in the final played on Saturday at Progress Park.
Playing in their first Super 50 final, St. George won the toss and elected to bat posting 137 in 37.2 overs.
Cyprian Forsythe top scored with a half century which was the highest individual score of the final. His fifty came off 66 balls which included 3 fours and 2 sixes.
Miguel Smith also contributed to the total with 30 runs.
Left-arm spinner Denis George was pick of the bowlers with figures of 4 for 27 off 8.2 overs.
Delon Matthew and Craig Phillip bagged two wickets each.
In reply St. Patrick got to 143 for 4 off 23.0 overs.
Deron Hypolite was unbeaten on 49.
There were good contributions from Essen Joseph (37) and captain Devon Smith 26.
Narun Singh bagged two for 16 off 5 overs.
