Westmorland and St. Mary’s dominate schools swimming.

ST. GEORGE’S, June 7, 2016 – Westmorland Junior School (WJS) and St. Mary’s Junior School (SMJS) were crowned champions of the Boys and Girls Division respectively at the recently concluded CIBC-FCIB Inter-Primary School Swimming Competition.

Westmorland ended the two day event with 229 points which was 17 more than their closet competitor Alpha Junior School (AJS) who finished second on 212 points in the boys while on the girls side Westmorland fell short by 8 points to finish second behind St. Mary’s Junior School who ended on 205 points.

Gabrielle Hyson (WJS) and Shelby Neckles (AJS) were joint female individual champions with 41 points while Zackary Gresham (WJS) was male champion with 53 points just 1 more than Aidan Mc Intosh (SMJS) who finished second.

Hyson won the Girls 9-10 50 yd backstroke, 25 yd freestyle and 50 yd breaststroke while Neckles won the 8 & under 50 yd backstroke, freestyle and breaststroke events.

Gresham won the Boys 50 yd breaststroke, 100 yd freestyle and 100 yd IM along with the 11 & over 25 yd butterfly and 50 yd freestyle.

Mc Intosh won the Boys 25 and 50 yd freestyle, 25 yd butterfly, 50 yd backstroke and 50 yd breaststroke. He also won the 11 & over  50 yd backstroke.
