Two teams go for second consecutive title in Right Start Youth Football!

10689458_10152288837026073_8600853969445798312_nST. GEORGE’S, November 25, 2016 – There will be at least one new champion when the finals of the Republic Bank Right Start Youth Football Tournament kicks off at the National Athletics Stadium on November 30.

In the Under 15 Male, a new champion will be crowned as defending champions St. Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School (SAASS) were defeated in penalty kicks by St. Mark’s Secondary School (SMSS).

Following regulation time both teams were deadlock on 1 goal each which saw the dreadful penalty shootout where SMSS won 4-3.

SMSS will face Boca Secondary School (BSS) in the finals.

BSS got the better of Grenada Seventh Day Adventist Comprehensive School (GSDACS) 4-1 in semi-final two.

Meanwhile in the Under 21 Male category, Defending Champions Mac Donald College (MDC) will go in search of their second consecutive title when they face St. John’s Christian Secondary School (SJCSS) in Wednesday’s finals.

MDC booked their spot with a 5-4 win in penalty-kicks following a 3-3 deadlock against Happy Hill Secondary School (HHSS) in the second semi-final.

SJCSS secured their spot after a 1-nil win against Grenada Christian Academy (GCA).

The female equivalent will see St. Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School (SAASS) coming up against Defending Champions Happy Hill Secondary School (HHSS).

SAASS had a 7-1 victory over St. David’s Catholic Secondary School (SDCSS) in semi-final 1 while HHSS got the better of Mac Donald College 4-nil.

The finals of the Right Start Youth Football Tournament is carded for November 30 at the National Athletics Stadium.

This year a total of 23 secondary schools have registered to participate. 15 teams in the Under 21 boys category; 19 teams in the Under 15 boys category; and 12 teams in the Under 21/open girls category.
