ST. GEORGE, April 19, 2017 – Defending Champions in the Republic Bank/Grenada Cricket Association (GCA) Under 19 Cricket Tournament St. David had to settle for a loss in their opening game of the tournament which bowled off on Tuesday.
Beaten 2016 finalists St. Andrew went in to bat and posted 255 all out in 46.5 overs with top scores coming from Yohan Jeremiah 81 and Haston Jackson 66.
Pick of the bowlers for St. David were Jeron Noel 3 for 30 and Reon Mahon 2 for 12.
In reply St. David were dismissed for 129 in 37.5 overs.
Todd Mitchell’s 30 and Jorvin Williams’ 21 were the top scorers while Calvin Blache’s 4 for 32 was pick of the bowlers.
In the other game played on the day, St. Mark had a 4 wicket win over St. Patrick at Alston George Park.
St. Patrick could only muster 129 in 20.4 overs with top scores from Anthony Dunbar 37 and Jade Matthew 31.
Kervin Gangadeen 4 for 18 and Razim Elahie 4 for 44 were pick of the bowlers.
St. Mark got to their target scoring 130 for 6 in 21.2 overs.
Dushan Fraser 25 and Dujon Juerakhan 24 top scored with Anthony Dunbar taking 3 for 21.
The tournament continues today with St. George versus St. Patrick at Tanteen while St. Andrew and Carriacou & Petit Martinique do battle at Progress Park.
