MIAMI, Florida, March 7, 2018 – Grenada will join 33 other Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) Nations in the qualifying round of the CONCACAF League of Nations tournament, which will begin in September.
The details were announced at the official launch of the tournament on Wednesday in Miami by the Confederation.
The Nations League qualification which also serves as qualification to the Gold Cup will be played during three (3) international windows between September 2018 and March 2019.
Results of these qualifiers will shape the Ranking Index, which will be used to seed the League of Nations tournament.
Mexico, the United States, Costa Rica, Panama, Honduras and Trinidad and Tobago have gained automatic qualification to the final round based on reaching the CONCACAF’s final round of World Cup qualification.
Grenada’s first match will be against Curacao in the first International Window.
The top ten (10) finishers in the qualifiers will join the six (6) automatic qualifiers in the 2019 Gold Cup.
A new logo was also revealed at the launch.
